Renata Przenioslo was born on the 8th of March 1948. She graduated from the High School of Arts in Czestochowa in 1969 where she attended the class of ceramics. The qualities of ceramics are: far-reaching stylization, high decorative value, purity of colours, and idealization of shapes and forms. All these elements are visible in Ms. Przenioslo's paintings. After graduating she worked as a psychotherapeutist with sick people which, she thinks, was the reason for chosing human portraits as the main topic of her paintings. The portrait became the best form to express her psyche. Constant analysis of man's inside made her sensitive to human suffering and taught her to see emotional values of man. In her works she often connects people with the elements of nature as she thinks we are an integral part of nature. Man has been the topic of her work and thoughts for 20 years.
Watching people I can see their physical resembla to flowers, bushes and trees. This is fascinating. Flowers and trees are like people. Beautiful and proud, modest and upset by their ugliness, alender and scrubby. My imagination has always been inspired by "beauty" in all of its forms. I think there are so many imperfections around us that devoting them so much space in literature, music or art is in contradiction with the laws of art as such. Bad and ugly things relase bad feelings, such as aggression. "Beauty" enriches our lives, brings over peace and harmony, encourages to esthetic and good activities. That is why I like the kind of painting which implies certain story, poetry, but is also reliable and based on solid educational background. That is why I paint portraits and still lives. Such topics allow me to use all the above-mentioned elements. While painting portraits I met a lot of interesting people. They were my relatives, friends and acquaintances. Though I respect and admire many artists of various branches, I have never thought about painting them. Freddie Mercury was an expection.
Renata Przenioslo has displayed her works at joint exhibitions in many cities. Exhibitions presenting solely her works could only be seen in Sosnowiec, whwere she lives. A few years ago her pictures were destroyed in a fire. After that she only painted portraits and still lives.
The last group of her paintings is the series of portraits devoted to Freddie Mercury.
Freddie Mercury, the leader of Queen who died on 24th of November 1991, became the challenge for the artist. Renata Przenioslo did not follow the world trend, her personal emotions and fascinations with this great singer were formed long before Freddie's death.
Her painting, especially the Freddie's series, pictures human being connected to the symbol of a flower. The painting "The Smell of Daffodils" focuses on the lapse of time and the transitoriness. of being. The idea can be seen in the composition of the sick man's face against the daffodill - an extremely delicate and quickly withering spring flower.
Another interesting concept is the painter's approach to the viewers - the crowd of moving pictures, aggresive colours and sharp contours. These clear accents, often sharply underlining some of the presented elements, do not spoil the subtlety or sensitivity which were the artist's basis and inspiration for painting the pictures.
